This globe is a rare find showing the exact location and time frame of the Hale Bopp comet. Named for two scientists Alan Hale and Thomas Bopp discovering the comet on the same day, July 23rd, 1995.
However it didn't become visible until 1996 and lasted through 1997.
As you rotate the Earth inside the sphere you can see exactly where it was over land.
A great piece for an anyone into astrology or the history of comets.
Please view photos carefully as there are scratches in the globe and stand. There is a slight crack as well. The last photo is of the small crack but not easily seen unless up close. The stand is scratched from display and it being slid around over time.
