    Description

    Antique Custom Wooden Lantern Case. Condition is "Used". This a very old hand made custom lantern case. It looks to be made out of 3/8” plywood. It came with a 1947 Coleman 242 lantern I bought. The listing said it was an old barn find. It is in excellent shape for its age! Brass hardware. The handle is brass plated and has some brass worn off. See last picture. It has 36 Indian Head nickels glued on the top, one of which shows the Indian head with a date of 1935. The rest of the nickels were glued on, Buffalo side up. It has a 30 year service pin glued on the front, that reads Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Dependable Engines. It has what looks like a rectangle sapphire in the lower center of the pin above the 30 years. I don’t know whether this is brass or Gold plated. It is well lacquered, which is probably why the wood is still in such good shape. Has plenty of years and use left in it!
