    Description

Ship Captain RN Palmer writing to Philadelphia merchant Anthony Butler about the ship being taken in Haiti by Hattian customs for items found, specifically found in 2 trunks. They had a seal with a crown/lion/3 roses and initials GRE. Many names in Haiti and places and a privateer schooner are mentioned. He is writing the letter on 3/23/1797 from Cape Francois Hispanda.  Water has made the ink difficult to read.
    About Me
I am an old school wholesale dealer and scour New England and GA for new material. I am also the founder of WorthPoint and would encourage all to visit our site if you want to research antique prices.
I focus on happy repeat customers and try to ensure all are happy. We mark down prices after most items are active for 30 days so encourage you to come back. We are a wholesaler and I travel a lot so sometimes it may take a while for me to be able to return an email. I have sold over 15,000 items on eBay with almost perfect feedback so encourage all to consider their source when buying as part of your buying decision!
I specialize in paper, photos, coins, and militaria and charge GA residents sales tax. If the item is not old I say so and also state defects. If you know more about an item than me speak up as I do not mind learning or being told I am wrong and strive for accuracy. You can always learn more in this business. If I make a mistake, and we all will from time to time, I will take total responsibility.
International buyers..I love you, but please do not ask me to not declare the value of an item for customs. We follow the law and do things right!
